SPORTathon 2025
Join us for 24 hours of challenges and fun, raising funds for New Life Special Care Babies.
SPORTathon 2025 is for everyone. Sign up for spinning, swimming, tennis, or yoga. Bring your family for games and face painting. End the day with PARTYathon—a night of music and food, all for a great cause.
SPORTathon stands as one of our largest annual fundraising events, generating an average of £40,000 each year to fund a dedicated project for a local Berkshire, Wiltshire, or Hampshire hospital. Join us in making a meaningful impact!

WELCOME FROM NEW LIFE
Many of you know my story, but others may not. My twins, Joshua and Samuel, were born at 24 weeks but only survived a week. That was 30 years ago. The charity was born out of this very sad time but we are grateful to be celebrating its 30th Anniversary this year!
Neonatal care has come a long way since then, and so has the charity. It has raised £1.9m, helped over 23 neonatal units in the UK and made a difference to over 1000 premature babies’ lives. Put simply, we help premature and very sick tiny babies thrive not just survive. Without the support of people and families like you this would not be possible.
Every person swimming, cycling or running; every raffle ticket bought, and child’s face painted makes a difference and makes me so proud of what, together, we can achieve.
Thank you to each and every one of you for supporting New Life in 2025.

New Life is a charity dedicated to raising money for special care babies. We do this by fundraising from sporting and social events, individual challenges, sponsorship, and donations.
We liaise with Neo-Natal Consultants to determine what equipment they need. Requests are usually for specialist life-saving neo-natal equipment, but we have also funded specialist training courses as well as provided specific items for individual families such as specialist blankets and clothing and breast pumps.
In many cases, the equipment we buy is often unavailable on the NHS.
THE CHARITY
WELCOME FROM DAVID LLOYD
A warm welcome from David Lloyd! For the seventh consecutive year, David Lloyd Newbury is delighted to host this exceptional event in its 30th year anniversary. I am incredibly pleased and excited. Last year's event was a resounding success, raising a substantial amount for a remarkable charity.
With even more activities added to this year's Sportathon, more people will have the opportunity to participate, and I am confident that we can exceed our fundraising goal.
I extend my sincere gratitude to my coaching staff for their generous contribution of time and effort to this special occasion. A special thank you also goes to the management and staff of David Lloyd, who consistently go above and beyond to support our endeavors. It promises to be a fantastic weekend, and I eagerly anticipate seeing familiar faces and meeting new friends.
Finally, I want to express my immense pride in working with such a wonderful charity, with people who are not only passionate about their cause but also genuinely enjoying themselves.
Let's make this year even better!
