This year, we’re going bigger and better than ever. Alongside returning favourites like tennis, spinning, and yoga, we’re excited to introduce Padel, the Tri Challenge, and a range of wellness workshops.
We’re also proud to be collaborating with Italia Conti Newbury, offering exciting activities for children aged 5+, making SPORTathon truly an event for everyone.
Bring the whole family to enjoy games, face painting, and a vibrant community atmosphere. Then, round off the day in style with PARTYathon—an unforgettable evening of music, food, and celebration, all for a fantastic cause.
Making a Difference
SPORTathon is one of our biggest annual fundraising events, raising an average of £40,000 each year to support vital projects.
In 2026, we are fundraising for neonatal care units at Buscot Ward (Reading Hospital) and Basingstoke Hospital, helping provide life-saving equipment including:
A new incubator (£24,000) for Reading Hospital
A Hotcot, breast pumps, and neonatal video laryngoscope (£18,500) for Basingstoke Hospital

WELCOME FROM NEW LIFE
Welcome to Sportathon 2026, and thank you for being part of something truly special.
Many of you already know my story, but for those who don’t, this event is deeply personal. Following the loss of my twin sons, Joshua and Samuel, who were born prematurely, I founded New Life Babies to help give other babies a stronger chance at survival and a better start in life. What began from tragedy has grown into a charity that has raised over £2 million pounds, supporting neonatal units across the UK and helped thousands of families.
Sportathon is at the heart of that mission. Every mile cycled, every length swum, every step run, and every donation made contributes directly to life-saving equipment, specialist care, and vital support for premature and critically ill babies.
This event is not just about sport—it’s about community, compassion, and making a real difference together. Whether you are taking part, volunteering, or cheering from the sidelines, you are helping change lives.
Thank you for your support, your energy, and your generosity. Together, we can continue to give these tiny babies the chance not just to survive—but to thrive.

New Life is a charity dedicated to raising money for special care babies. We do this by fundraising from sporting and social events, individual challenges, sponsorship, and donations.
We liaise with Neo-Natal Consultants to determine what equipment they need. Requests are usually for specialist life-saving neo-natal equipment, but we have also funded specialist training courses as well as provided specific items for individual families such as specialist blankets and clothing and breast pumps.
In many cases, the equipment we buy is often unavailable on the NHS.
THE CHARITY
WELCOME FROM DAVID LLOYD
A very warm welcome from David Lloyd!
We are thrilled to once again host this incredible event, and I’m genuinely excited to see it grow stronger year after year. Last year’s Sportathon was a huge success, raising an impressive amount for a truly inspiring charity.
This year, we’ve taken things even further. With new activities added and exciting local partnerships in place, more people than ever can get involved. I’m confident that together, we can surpass our previous fundraising achievements.
My sincere thanks go to our dedicated coaching team for their time, energy, and commitment in making this event possible. I’d also like to extend a special thank you to the wider David Lloyd team, whose continued support and enthusiasm never go unnoticed.
It promises to be a fantastic weekend. I look forward to welcoming familiar faces back and meeting many new ones along the way.
Finally, I am incredibly proud to be part of such a remarkable charity—working alongside people who are not only passionate about their mission but bring such positivity and spirit to everything they do.
Let’s make 2026 our best year yet!
